Easel allows you to set different increments for safety height and the origin safety height.
The safety height is how far the machine retracts up for rapid movements during the carve. The machine performs rapid movements when moving between elements of a design. The red lines in the toolpath indicate rapid movements:
The origin safety height is how far the machine retracts up when starting and finishing a carve.
By default, it will be set to the same value as the safety height (0.15 in). It may be beneficial to increase this value so the bit will not run into clamps.
The origin safety height can be changed by first opening up an Easel project, then clicking on Machine > General Settings. From there you can adjust the safety height.
The new increment will be saved upon closing the window.
