During or after your machine setup, you may notice that one of the axes is moving in the wrong direction. Fortunately, this issue can be quickly fixed by redoing the machine profile setup.
Start by opening a project in Easel. From there, select "Machine" at the top of the screen. This will open a drop-down menu. Select "Setup New Machine" from the menu. This will open a menu from which you can select your machine type.
After selecting the machine type, you will have the option to specify the manufacturer and model of the machine for which you are creating a profile.
Once the machine details are input, Easel will write the configuration for the machine and bring you to the "Test your Wiring" screen. Here you can jog your machine to confirm it is moving is the correct direction.
If you find that one of the axes is jogging in the wrong direction, you can select "No" from the "Working Correctly?" menu. This will open a screen that asks whether the axis is jogging in the wrong direction or not moving at all. Choose the wrong direction option. Another screen will appear, asking if you want to change the GRBL settings or rewire the axis. Select the GRBL change option. This will adjust the firmware and return you to the jog menu. You can test the axis again to ensure it is jogging in the correct direction.
If you still have issues, you may need to do a firmware reset from the Machine Inspector.
Open up the Machine Inspector by going to Machine > General Settings> Machine Inspector.
In the Machine Inspector scroll down to the console and send this command:
$X
Press enter. This will unlock the machine. Then send this command:
$RST=*
Press enter.
You should receive an "OK" message that the reset was successful.
If you still have issues, it may be a mechanical or electronics issue and you'll need to reach out to your machine manufacturer for additional support.
