Make sure nothing is in the path of the machine:
-
Obstructions will cause the machine to make a loud grinding noise while homing. You may also get a "Homing Cycle Failed" error message
-
Make sure clamps and materials are not blocking the path in any way. Since the Carvey's Wasteboard moves during operation and can hit the back wall of the machine:
-
check to make sure none of the clamps are hanging off the back edge of the wasteboard
-
check to make sure no large debris is underneath the wasteboard that may prevent it from moving properly during operation.
- If needed, vacuum the debris from the build area and Carvey floor using the instructions Here
-
Check Response in the Machine Inspector
You can check whether the Homing Switches or Smart Clamp is responding using the Machine Inspector. Go to Machine > General Settings > Machine Inspector. Each switch will light up green when pressed to show contact, and white when there's no contact.
-
- You can check the X-Axis by slowly moving the X-Carriage all the way to the left
- You can check the Y-Axis by slowly moving the Wasteboard all the way to the back
- You can check the Smart Clamp by pressing down on the silver button.
