If your Carvey is inconsistently carving too deep or too shallow, you may simply need to replace the wasteboard. If it has been carved into or warped, the material will not be level to the spindle, causing the carve to be uneven.
A replacement wasteboard can be purchased here. Please see the Carvey instructions for conducting the wasteboard replacement.
Additionally, the Smart Clamp may need to be cleaned. If dust or debris is built up inside the clamp, it may not register contact right away. Instructions for cleaning the clamp can be found here.
If your Carvey is consistently carving too deep or too shallow, we’re able to program a z-axis offset to the machine in order to resolve this issue. In order to resolve this issue, we need to know your machine’s serial number, as well as the offset depth.
First, we need the machine’s serial number. This is located in both the Machine Inspector (Machine > General Settings > Machine Inspector) and on the Carvey's back panel.
To find the offset depth, carve a 2mm deep profile or pocket in wood, and then measure the actual depth of cut.
Contact CS via help@inventables.com with this information and we can program in the offset.
