Easel and Easel Pro can connect and control non-Inventables machines as long as you are using a Grbl-based motion controller. Easel currently supports the following GRBL versions for third-party machines: Grbl 1.1h, Grbl 1.1g, Grbl 1.1f, Grbl 1.1e, Grbl 1.0c, Grbl 1.0b, Grbl 0.9j, Grbl 0.9i, Grbl 0.9g, Grbl 0.8c.

If you are not sure which type of motion controller you have, reach out to your machine provider.
To get started, open up an Easel Project and go to Machine > Set up new machine > Other (3rd Party machines)
Easel has both Grbl and non-grbl machines listed. For Grbl machines, Easel will walk you through checking the machine is working:
- Select the appropriate machine type from the "Make" drop-down menu.
- Select the Model.
- Easel will detect if the Make and Model are Grbl machines and provide machine control.
- Confirm Settings and connect your machine to your computer.
- You will be prompted to Download and Install New Easel Drivers
- On the next screen, select "Edit existing machine" or "Set up a new machine" (Important Note: Setting up multiple machine profiles is a feature exclusive to Easel Pro users. Easel Pro Feature: Multiple Machine Profiles Additionally, only users with X-Carve Pro machines are required to add a serial number during the setup process.)
- Next, ensure your machine is working correctly. Easel will guide you through:
- Test your wiring
- Enable or disable homing
- Enable or disable z-probe
- On the last step, select "Run Intro to Easel project" or "Finish" to return to your Easel Projects.
